Merawat bayi merupakan salah satu tindakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan bayi. Ibu postpartum seharusnya mampu melakukan perawatan bayi pada periode taking hold, dimana periode ini merupakan waktu yang tepat untuk memberikan pendidikan kesehatan mengenai cara perawatan bayi. Informasi kesehatan yang dimiliki oleh ibu postpartum dapat meningkatkan kemampuan cara merawat bayi menjadi lebih optimal. Pendidikan kesehatan dapat diperoleh melalui metode pembelajaran yang efektif diantaranya yaitu metode ceramah dan metode demonstrasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan pendidikan kesehatan menggunakan metode ceramah dengan metode demonstrasi terhadap penerapan perawatan bayi pada ibu postpartum primipara. Penelitian ini merupakan Pre-eksperimental design, dengan membandingkan 2 sampel berpasangan yang menggunakan pendekatan pretest-posttest design. Sampel berjumlah 32 responden ibu postpartum primipara yang ada di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Sukorame Kota Kediri pada bulan Mei – Juni 2018, diambil menggunakan Simple Random Sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar checklist dan dianalisis menggunakan uji Chi Kuadrat. Hasil uji hipotesis diperoleh χ2 hitung > χ2 tabel = (6,926) > (3,481) maka H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima yang berarti terdapat perbedaan antara pendidikan kesehatan menggunakan metode ceramah dengan metode demonstrasi terhadap penerapan perawatan bayi pada ibu postpartum primipara. Maka dari itu, pemilihan metode dalam menyampaikan pengetahuan melalui pendidikan kesehatan tentang merawat bayi sangat penting yang tujuannya membuat ibu postpartum tidak hanya memperoleh pengetahuan namun dapat menerapkan cara merawat bayi secara optimal.

Fenita, Siska Hendri, 2018. The Difference of Health Education Using Lecture Method and Demonstration Method toward Baby’s Care Application on Primipara’s Post-Partum Mother in the Work Area of Sukorame Health Center Kediri City.

Baby’s care is one of actions to fulfill all of baby’s needs. Post-partum mother should be able to take care of her baby in taking hold period because it is the best time to give health education about baby’s care. The information can improve mother’s ability to take care of her baby optimally. The information can be obtained from two effective ways, they are lecture method and demonstration method. The purpose of this research is to know the difference of health education using lecture method and demonstration method toward baby’s care application on primipara’s post-partum mother. This research was Pre-experimental design, which compares 2 samples group with pretest-posttest design. The sample was 32 primipara’s post-partum mother in the work area of Sukorame Heath Center Kediri city the study held on May-June 2018 and Simple Random Sampling technique was applied in this research. The data was collected through checklist and analyzed using Chi Square Test to determine the hypothesis. The result of hypothesis test were obtained that χ2 count > χ2 table = (6.926) > (3.481), means that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. It can be concluded that there is differences between lecture method and demonstration method. Thus, the choice of method in delivering knowledge about health education especially in baby’s care is very crucial in order to make post-partum mother acquire not only the knowledge but also practice how to take care baby optimally.
